Well, this was a longer than expected gap between blog posts, but late last year, I was unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully it was caught early and was treatable with surgery, but is more common than I realised. According to Cancer Research "1 in 7 UK females will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime". It wasn't on my radar and I was too young for regular screening, but in UK the policy is to refer any lumps, so please, if you notice any changes to your breasts, get them checked out.
Ok public health announcement over, and it feels like Spring has well and truly sprung at the moment! The daffodils are out and my rhubarb has revived from apparent death. What that seems to mean is that it's hard to know what to wear. It's certainly too cold to be packing away a winter coat. Is it normally this warm in February? Someone told me that this in "false Spring" and it happens every year, so we're possibly not out of the woods yet.
The daffodils certainly think it's Spring
I am certainly seeing more clothes on the site to prepare us for the warmer weather. I have also added Weird Fish on to the site, and I am loving their coats with inside pockets. I have started to add more categories to make it easier find more of what you want, summer dresses ( is that wishful thinking?), long sleeved dresses with pockets, coats with inside pockets, and many more. Anything you think "I wish they had a page for that?". As always, let me know.
Lastly, I recently had some correspondence with a lovely woman at Arts University Bournemouth, and she put so eloquently one of the issues with lack of pockets in women's clothes and I wanted to share:
"If I am wearing a fitted dress with no pockets, I give my phone, (which I pay for) my keys, (to the house I pay rent for) and my money, (which I earn) to my male friend to hold, as he has pockets. In that moment, despite my apparent independence, he has everything that I own."
Absolutely!
