I would never claim to be an expert on fashion, but it didn't escape me that there have been a couple of little fashion shows in London and Paris recently. It was great to see pockets celebrated, even if sometimes it gets a little silly. It's also great to see more celebrities wearing dresses with pockets, including Shirley Ballas on Strictly last Saturday. But what happens when the fashion changes? There is already a trend of massive bags, according to the Independent. It's great for pockets to be on display, but pockets are not just for show, they are to put stuff in. It's so that women don't need to carry a bag or have someone else carry their stuff for them. Pockets for women is about women being able to expect pockets in everything they wear regardless of their style ( and even you don't like cargo).
Pockets For Girls
Girls' Fun should include pockets!
It was a close call, but pockets for girls won over second hand with pockets, so that will be the next project, as well as adding on new retailers. I have decided I will use this photo for the 'pockets for girls' category, because although the original sign was next to dolls, I think girls’ fun is better with pockets.
In the last couple of weeks I have added Coast and, despite not saying so, they have some absolutely gorgeous party dresses with pockets, including some wedding dresses. Coming soon, Attitude Clothing, Cotton Traders, In The Style, and Dancing Leopard.
I've mentioned before, but when I filter the clothes, I don't just look for the word 'pocket' but I look for evidence of hands in pockets on the photos. It can be a frustrating process sometimes ( as any woman who's tried to find clothes with pockets has probably experienced), and occasionally I might get it wrong, but if you notice please leave a 'pocket review' and let me know.
I just wanted to mention this lovely design house that has Edwardian and Victorian style wear and state “All of our dresses have large pockets”. If I can get them on the site I will!
Also hello to anyone who found us through the article in El Pais. Vive la revolución del bolsillo!
